How to calculate a percentage
Turn the percentage into a decimal by dividing it by 100, then multiply that decimal by the original number.
Result = number × percentage ÷ 100
A quick example
Fifteen percent of 240 is 36. Adding that percentage gives 276, while subtracting it gives 204.
